Supplier Relationship Manager (m/f)

Lead all interactions with third party organizations through account plans, targets and projects to maximize collaboration and value creation between the parties. Ensure a systematic, enterprise-wide assessment of supplier assets and capabilities to cover the needs in line with the Novartis strategy. Lead a cross-functional Supplier Relationship Team (SRT) to ensure complete product and process oversight, drive performance improvements in all functional areas (quality, supply chain, procurement, and life cycle management).

• Lead Supplier Relationship Teams (SRT’s) based on technologies, comprised of quality, supply chain, sourcing, technical functions inc. validation, GMP, HSE to ensure Novartis standards are met
• Organize business review meetings, where key stakeholders and technical experts meet to discuss joint opportunities, potential roadblocks to collaboration, activities and resources required, and share strategies and relevant market trends
• Manage performance of the suppliers and SRT’s
• Serve as primary point of escalation for issues/KPIs
• Set targets for the suppliers’ KPI dashboards
• Set goals for SRT members with functional heads
• Review KPIs with suppliers and internal teams
• Ensure implementation of CAPAs
• Communicate changes and issues with suppliers
• Set resource plans and budgets for the SRT
• Lead major projects to improve supplier performance
• Create and follow Project and account plans (capacity, saving, changes)
• Write 3-5 year strategic plans for accounts
• Provide technical expertise in area of responsibility
• Lead and review continuous improvement projects
• Prioritize and lead innovation ideas in collaboration with suppliers
• Assure the SRT has “one voice” to third parties
• Coordinate across functions and leadership teams

Technical Operations


• Technical Degree with additional qualification in Economics or vice versa
• Minimum of 8 - 10 years managerial experience in an operational environment within pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Excellent communication and networking skills, ability to manage senior stakeholders
• English (fluent) and any other European Language (min. intermediate)
