National Sales Manager (m/f/d)

Your challenges:
• Achieve company sales, profitability and market share business plan
• Champion customer and sales strategies in strong collaboration with Key Account functions and input into all key Business Unit wide decisions
• Given the importance of the Sales operations for the business, the role is a Member of the Leadership Team
• Carry full responsibility for sales and market share of the entire product portfolio across traditional retail channel. Strong collaboration with Key Account Management (Retail/Internet) to execute KA programs with excellence. Establish clear priorities and align resources to deliver the plan. Monitor performance and modify the plan as needed to meet evolving market needs
• Strategically develop and implement programs to increase sales within existing channels, accounts and customers and new opportunities. Evaluate existing sales mechanisms to determine effectiveness and efficiency, profitability, fit within marketing strategy, and initiate actions to optimize sales outcome
• Tactical management of all retail channel and customer matters in order to achieve both short term and long term sales and profit objectives
• Maintain strong presence in the field and share of voice above competition. In co-operation with the Key Account Management team, be one of “the” representatives towards major customers
• Strategically evaluate market trends, retail and other sales activity and potential distribution opportunities to assess appropriateness and potential sales volume
• Owning key sales and organizational drivers: Customer Segmentation, Trade Term System, Sales Force Bonus System.
• Responsible for organizational development of the sales team, talent and succession planning
• Manage and motivate existing staff. Train, develop, and retain a top-class organization, up-grading talent as necessary. Be an effective mentor and coach of the organization.


You will need:
• University degree in Business Administration, Management, Sales & Marketing or Economics; MBA or related advanced degree is desirable
• Very good knowledge of German and English
• 5+ years’ responsibility and track record in sales and marketing leadership functions within a customer oriented organization of significant size.
• In-depth experience from leading Sales organization in OTC, Medical Device or B2B business, ideally with sales experience in a business with strong key accounts comparable to opticians, pharmacies, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and strategically thinking, sound knowledge of contract management, negotiation skills
• Hands-on and will to-win mentality, team skills and empathy
• Experienced leadership skills
