Job purpose

The purpose of the Manager Payor Marketing, Sales & Engagement role is to ensure that innovative payer customer-focused actionable strategies are in place and executed for successful attainment of target prices, optimal usage and co-creation of value with our customers through x-functional leadership with the commercial and medical leads for multiple compounds/ brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops, aligns and implements the Global Payer Marketing, Sales and Engagement strategy, leveraging the skills of medical, marketing, legal, access/account & cross function communities in key CPOs
• Shapes and advances the world-leading Payor Marketing, Sales and Engagement function with innovative ideas and initiatives delivering payer/ provider value creating preference for Sandoz and supporting growth in patient access
• Defines payer/ provider channels, strategy and marketing tools delivering tailored value propositions to customers by applying in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of purchasing criteria, dynamics and mechanisms together with success principles in pharmaceutical pricing, contracting and tendering
• Utilises state-of–the-art methods for payer/ provider insight generation enabling tailored payer/account campaigns which integrates into medical and commercial planning processes to facilitate/price setting and price differentiation across customers with the ability to effectively communicate the pricing strategy to the organisation
• Identifies and industrialises best practices by working with the countries on the development of local market access and account selling strategies and implementation

Market Access


The ideal candidate will have

• Advanced degree or master degree in account/payer relevant area (e.g., economics, business administration, pharmacy, finance, etc.)
• Fluency in English – oral & written; second language desirable
• Significant experience in a market access / key account management/ channel marketing role with relevant experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies, payer/ account businesses or health care consultancy companies
• Solid understanding and knowledge of key payer/account archetypes, pricing, reimbursement, and market access
• Solid understanding of channel management/ account management and ability to engage with accounts at executive level
• Strong Pharma/Biotech industry business acumen including our customers businesses
• Market experience of pricing and reimbursement environment in Europe and/or USA
• Strong interpersonal, cross-functional leadership and communication skills to successfully interact and partner with various internal and external stakeholders and within cross-functional teams
