For our holding organisation based in Nürnberg we are currently looking for the new

HR Manager Labour Relations (m/f/d)

Purpose of the job:

The jobholder is the main interface for the Group Works Council of the German Novartis Group and establishes through discussions and negotiations, legal Co-determination prerequisites for the implementation of the general HR and business strategies as well as specific projects, if necessary also through interaction with external consultants. In addition, the jobholder independently assesses issues relating to the participation rights of the Group Works Council and advises the labour director of the German Novartis Group in planning the implementation, whereby he makes legal issues clear and comprehensible for non-lawyers and demonstrates various courses for action

Your responsibilities are amongst others:

• Trustworthy contact person and negotiating party for the Group Works Council
• Professional responsibility for all aspects of Collective labour law in the
context of various reorganization, transaction and transformation projects
• Close and project-based collaboration in the global matrix structure
• Development of strategies for HR relevant topics taking into account the
standards laid down by the global organization
• Draft, analysis and evaluation of issues pertaining to labour regulations and
statement of recommendations for the personnel management of the German
Novartis companies
• Support in relation to issues pertaining to Individual labour law


This is your background:

• University degree
• At least eight years of professional experience on company side as HR
Business Partner or HR Manager regarding the trustful cooperation with the
diverse employee representations
• Competent knowledge of labour laws and experience in Collective labour law
and ideally even in Individual labour law, together with negotiating skills and
acuity in corporate policy for finding innovative solutions
• Ability to illustrate legal issues in clear and accurate terminology
• Experience in project management as well as in the arrangement for and
execution of negotiations
• Pragmatism, solution-focus and team spirit
• Commitment and a high level of self-initiative
• Excellent oral and written German and English language skills
