Head O2C and Statutory Accounting Manager (m/f/d)
- in Freiburg i.Br. or in the greater Frankfurt area -

Your challenges:
• Performance Management and Service Delivery
• Lead Credit (O2C) team and provides hands-on support for the team to provide quality services to support effective decision-making
• Designs and implements the credit and collection process to improve cash flow and reduce receivables
• Has the operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling the exceptions
• Provides functional guidance from a statutory accounting perspective for business transactions. Interacts proactively with FSC and Divisions to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting
• Is responsible for an on-time submission of statutory reports to management and authorities following local regulations
• Prepares the bridge between IFRS, Statutory and Balance-Sheet
• Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related statutory policies and processes, supports productivity objectives and continuous improvement, process changes and leading practices to have an efficient and effective process
• Drives and monitors improvements to sustain a highly effective and efficient statutory accounting and reporting process, and realizes cost reduction opportunities including areas to harmonize and standardize processes
• Collaborates with key stakeholders, including accounting authorities/auditors in collaboration with Service Line Lead
• Act as Super User for in-country processes
• Provision of training / skill sharing to the business on key processes
• Support local and global corporate functions in managing bank relationship activities, strategic Treasury & Cash management activities in close coordination with FSC
• Manage local TCM guidelines.

Manage day-to-day activities for Statutory Accounting and Reporting
• Actively contributes to the period-end closing and reporting in accordance with laws and Novartis required standards
• Supports the balance sheet account reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensures timely resolution and cleans of overdue items identified
• Ensures proper statutory accounting of financial transactions and accounting specific questions are well addressed and solved
• Proactively reviews statutory accounts and the bridging from IFRS to statutory to ensure all financial transactions are valid and recorded to ensure accuracy of reported data
• Prepares the notes for the statutory annual report leveraging existing information from FSC
• Prepares and leads management of specific statutory Accounting Position Papers (sAPP) and contributes to IFRS APPs with statutory expertise
• Prepares statutory reports following local regulations like local Board of Directors

Compliance
• Ensures all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined, fully documented and aligned to Finance Core
• Ensure compliance with Alcon Compliance & Control and regulatory requirements and implementation in internal guidelines, and actively support to deliver SOX certification
• Promotes a strong control environment, follows up on allocated audit issues and implements correcting measures

Audit & Finance


Mindestanforderungen

You will need:
• University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance
• Chartered Accountant preferred
• Fluent German and English written and spoken
• minimum 6-8 years of financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization
• SAP expertise preferable
• Previous experience in auditing, statutory and IFRS accounting
• Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements
• Profound people skills, leadership exposure
