Sandoz is currently recruiting for a Head IP Litigation ex-US to join our global legal team to lead the Sandoz IP Litigation & Launch function outside of North America

Job purpose

The purpose of the Head IP Litigation ex-US role includes responsibility to manage, direct, and/or coordinate through strategic guidance, all Sandoz patent litigation and related intellectual property (IP) activities and ensure close collaboration with the other Novartis Divisions to maximize value for patients and shareholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the patent litigation ex-US team, consisting of six litigators and one assistant
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Sandoz IP and legal teams and the Sandoz business on issues of patent litigation, launch strategies and market exclusivity; optimize launch timelines
• Ensure the highest quality patent litigation strategies are implemented and oversee the execution thereof to optimize the return on investment for all our products, including small molecule, respiratory and biosimilars
• Coach, mentor, and foster a world-class litigation team
• Member of the Sandoz IP Leadership team, responsible for the seamless cooperation with other parts of the global IP team including proactively fostering cooperation, information exchange and enterprise thinking

Mindestanforderungen

The ideal candidate will have

• Admission to practice as an attorney-at-law (e.g., lawyer or solicitor) in one or more national or state jurisdictions. Additionally a technical degree (B.Sc. or higher) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or English is required
• Greater than 10 years’ experience as an IP litigator is required, preferably with significant experience in a multinational corporate environment litigating multijurisdictional disputes
• Leadership experience is required; with a proven ability to manage and motivate associates of widely varying backgrounds across a dispersed and matrix organization being preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of IP litigation success in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry is required
• Proven understanding of product launch and commercialization processes as well as market dynamics and key competitors in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries is strongly preferred
