Job Purpose

The Head BPA Novartis Social Business is supporting the Head Novartis Social Business and the CFO Novartis Social Business in their decision making regarding financial target setting and related performance monitoring. Additionally, the Head BPA will ensure high quality forecasts for decision making for all relevant KPIs (P&L, FTE/PerCo as well as social metrics, e.g. patient reach). You will drive all processes around short-term planning (TGT, LF, latest outlooks), monthly performance tracking and supports the financial part of the Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Defines and runs overall Planning processes for Novartis Social Business:
- Target, LFs, Los, Gap Analysis and Gap closing recommendations
• In scope are all KPIs important to run Novartis Social Business (P&L, FTEs/PerCo, as well as social metrics, e.g. patient reach)
• Defines and runs financial Performance Monitoring and Business Analysis for NSB:
- Latest Forecast, LO, Monthly Business Reviews
- Risk assessment (R&Os) and propose corrective actions
- Deviation Analysis, Business Insights and resource allocation analysis and recommendations
• All processes are coordinated with Cluster Finance Heads to ensure an optimal allocation of financial resources across the organization
• Business partner for areas without own financial support in NSB (i.e. KAM NGO supply, Cluster Head West Central Africa)
• Customer profitability analysis for Novartis Access Portfolio to secure minimum margin of portfolio approach (Launch & regular review)
• Key finance contact for other functions in NSB (e.g. Supply Chain)
• Identifies and rolls out Best Practices globally: analytical tools, methodologies and thereby contributes to organizational development

The ideal candidate will have

• Minimum: University degree in business, economics or related field
• English
• Minimum: 5-7 years in financial and/or operational roles or in consultancy
• Strong Leadership
• Very good communications skills
• Sound Finance background
• Strong analytical and execution skills Desired
• Functional Finance experience, e.g. in Commercial Operations and/or NTO desirable
• Excellent execution skills
• International experience
• Strong Sandoz / Novartis background desirable
