Job purpose

The purpose of the Global Project Alliance & Operations Manager role is to ensure that project plans are built in order to achieve all milestones and to provide guidance to local teams for local divestment projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops deal process, preparing prospect-stage documents and coordinating due-diligence with selected buyers for divestment deals
• Liaises with Sandoz Division, Pharma Division, Novartis Technical Operations and Novartis Group for pre-deal approvals
• Leads post-deal transition planning and implementation along with medium-to-long term alliance management
• Develops detailed project plan in line with target timelines for deal closure
• Leads preparation of prospect documents including Information Memorandums, Process Letters and Data Packets and execute Confidentiality Agreements
• Coordinates extensive due-diligence activities before deal signature
• Develops basic understanding of pertinent functions including Patent, Technical Operations, Regulatory, Quality, Commercial Operations and Finance to prepare Virtual Data Room
• Liaises with selected buyers and meet expectations to enable Non-Binding Offers and Binding Offers
• Facilitates approvals for deals through the stringent review forums across most divisions of Novartis
• Leads transition activities for all divestment deals under tight timelines
• Coordination of post-closing activities during implementation
• Manages alliance with buyers and ensure compliance to executed contract

The ideal candidate will have

• Academic degree in business and/or scientific area
• Fluency in English is a prerequisite, while knowledge of other languages would be an advantage
• Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven experience in the area (e.g. in BD, Regulatory) and in project management
• Strong data management analysis skills
• Advanced operational understanding
• Strong track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a timely manner
• Proven strength in leading cross-functional teams
• Maturity to deal with matters of confidentiality and sensitivity
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and cope with pressure of tight deadlines
• Advanced MS Office skills
