Job purpose

The Director Biopharma Region Europe will be responsible for the commercial operations and P&L management (incl. sales, margin, TFCs (Total Functional Costs), OpInc) for Biopharmaceutical products in selected markets in Region Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver country sales, profit and organisational objectives through effective leadership and management of the Country BU Heads and Teams
• Manage TFC budget and ensure optimal resource allocation across regions, countries and products
• Develop and execute a growth plan for the countries focusing on internal (maximizing in-line brands, successful pipeline launches) and external opportunities (BD&L)
• To drive and ensure successful launches of new products
• To develop and execute a long-term strategy for the selected markets
• Ensure fit of organisation with market/customer requirements, allocating resources, portfolio priorities and driving organisational changes
• Build, develop and retain strong teams, responsible for personal development of direct reports
• Oversee the effective implementation of the commercial plans critical to the success of the product
• Define pricing and market access strategies together with Global Market Access
• Actively shape the environment for Biosimilars with key decision makers and stakeholders, with focus on responsible markets
• Proactively work with Novartis Oncology and Immunology and implement customer first initiatives
• Drive Strategic Plans for selected markets, and provide input into BU and Region Europe strategic plan
• Drive financial planning processes, e.g. TGT (Target) and LF (Latest Forecast) for responsible markets in alignment with Region Europe and BU
• Close collaboration with Region Europe and BU Global functions on brands, key activities and projects
• Act as the deputy for the Head Biopharma Region Europe, when he / she is not available

Mindestanforderungen

The ideal candidate will have

• University degree in Science plus MBA or Business degree
• English: excellent spoken & written; other major European languages are a plus
• Extensive experience in business management positions, preferably in the Pharma Industry
• Successful record of contribution and/or P&L responsibility
• Strong leadership skills
• Proven sales and marketing management
• Good understanding of regional and local dynamics, including regulatory and market environments
• Understanding of product launch and product commercialization processes
• High degree of self-motivation and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Pragmatic, agile and flexible mindset
• Experience working with and ideally leading cross-functional teams (directly or indirectly) across countries
• International experience
